During the pandemic, a nearby church gave out 40 daily reminder cards for each day during Lent. The two I have saved (for five years so far): “Saying ‘no’ can be holy.” ..aaaaand “Saying ‘yes’ can be holy, when that yes moves you closer to God and closer to your true self.” Funny how I just found both cards again, the day you started NO-vember! 🤔

Much to ponder. Right now, I'm spending a lot of time drawing cartoons for (hopefully) The New Yorker. With their 90% rejection rate, I keep asking myself Why am I doing this?! Well, I'm retired, have no kids, have an art background and I've been a caption finalist and/or winner in several caption contests recently, but most importantly, I'm having fun doing it. The problem is the amount of time I'm devoting to it. The house has gotten a bit, er, messy. Anyway, thanks for the guidelines.

You nailed it -- "I'm having fun doing it." That, in my opinion, is the chief reason to do it.
